getting underway

Whilst CarbonWatch is getting started, you might find some of our favourite sites interesting.

  • SeriousChange. A campaign to get a zero-carbon energy system for the UK, soon enough to make a difference. SeriousChange believe that decarbonising our energy system is an opportunity for growth, and that the innovation and other systematic changes to do this will help business and help Britain get out of the recession. Small actions that we can take are all part of the mix to achieve a zero carbon country, but major acts are also required from government and big business; SeriousChange exists to inform the public about the issues, and to enable individuals to show their support for big changes, which in the long term will bring energy security and sustainability to the UK.
  • the new economic foundation's "triple crunch" blog. nef are an independent think tank, and the triple crunch is all about pragmatic solutions to the three big challenges of financial crisis, climate change and oil depletion.
  • RebootBritain is a new movement to spark the radical changes needed to address the challenges we face as a country, by investigating the new possibilities that a networked, digital world offers to overcome them. The Reboot essays are thought-provoking, although we have yet to see the impact of the movement as a whole following the launch event on 6 July 2009.
